Postgraduate Study

Funding Opportunities

For the 1+3 course: there are some funded places from the PES CDT to fund eligible Home applicants. This fully funds (fees and maintenance) all four years of the course. A limited number of International applicants might also receive funding which covers fees and maintenance for all four years of the course.

To be classed as a Home student, candidates must meet the following criteria: be a UK National (meeting associated  residency requirements); or have settled or  pre-settled status (meeting associated residency requirements); or have indefinite leave to remain or enter (meeting associated residency requirements); or be an Irish National (meeting associated residency requirements, in line with the UK-Ireland Common Travel Area Agreement).  If a candidate does not meet the criteria above, they would be classed as an International student. Please see the Eligibility page on the EPSRC website for more information on eligibility.

Additionally, for 1+3 students, travel expenses to UCL will be reimbursed up to an annual limit for those who have a funded studentship from the CDT.

Funds are available for PhD students to attend relevant conferences, workshops and summer schools both in the UK and overseas.
