Teaching
The course is exclusively by research. The project and supervisor are determined during the application process; applicants are encouraged to contact potential supervisors before submitting their application.
One to one supervision | Students will meet with supervisors frequently and formal progress meetings will be arranged at least once a term. The University of Cambridge publishes an annual Code of Practice which sets out the University’s expectations regarding supervision. |

Placements
No specific industrial placements are expected or required during the course of the programme of research leading to this MPhil, although industrial cooperation arrangements are sometimes possible, depending on the subject of research.
Feedback
Formal feedback will be provided under the University postgraduate supervision reporting system. Students can expect one online report a term.
Assessment
Thesis / Dissertation
The assessment for this MPhil is solely based on the 15,000-word thesis, which is examined by viva voce (oral examination).
