Apply using the Applicant Portal
The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal. There, you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and you can also request your references.
An application is only complete when:
- you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
- you have paid the application fee if applicable. For further information on application fees, and which courses require an application fee, see here.
- your referees have provided their references.
If you miss the deadlines specified in this section, you will not be able to submit your application.
The SCM DTP-MR studentships must be based in a department, unit or Institute of the School of Clinical Medicine. Please refer to: http:.//www.medschl.cam.auk/about/departments-institutes-units/
All studentships are fully funded, so there is no need to apply for additional funding to be considered for this PhD programme. For further details on the application process, please refer to the SCM DTP-MR website.
Selection Process
There is usually a single round of admissions each year, made from a gathered field after applications close in December 2024, for entry in October 2025.
Applicants will be shortlisted after the closing date and interviews held (usually online) in January 2025.
This is an application to a funding programme, successful interview applicants will be transferred to the department or unit where their project is based.

Please select from the list of available projects, (up to a maximum of 3), specifying which projects you are interested in and why, and state your order of preference. - Relevant Experience (2000 characters) (mandatory)
Any relevant research experience, together with any interdisciplinary, or transferrable skills that you may have (approximately 250 words). - Reasons for Applying (2500 characters) (mandatory)

How to Find a Supervisor
A list of available PhD supervisors, and proposed projects will be made available on our website before applications open in October 2024.
Please follow the links above to find out about individual projects and their supervisors before applying. You will need to give specific rationale for your choices so please make sure you have understood the projects offered. Contacting supervisors about their projects is strongly advised.
