Postgraduate Study

During my first year of PhD studies, I have found that the Faculty of History has provided us with excellent resources and plenty of opportunities to develop our research skills.

Alongside monthly meetings with our supervisors, we have had access to a range of seminars and workshops, where we could engage with leading scholars in the field. During Michaelmas term, I had the opportunity to present my research at the World History Workshop, which was an invaluable experience for refining my work and expanding my academic network.

In Lent term, all first-year PhD students took part in a Presentation Day organised by the faculty, where we shared our research and received constructive feedback from scholars across different sub-fields. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping my academic development and confidence as a researcher.
