Postgraduate Study

As a part-time research student, you'll pay a reduced University Composition Fee for each year of your course.

To be admitted to your course, you must show that you can cover the University Composition Fee for the full length of your course.

You're not required to provide evidence of maintenance costs, but you should plan for additional expenses such as travel and accommodation during your studies.

Part-time fees by course

As a part-time student, you will pay a percentage of the full-time fee. The amount depends on the qualification you are studying. For example:

  • For PhD, MSc, MLitt, CPGS
The part-time fee is 60% of the full-time University Composition Fee per year.

  • For MPhil (2 years)
The part-time fee is 50% of the full-time University Composition Fee per year.

  • For MSt degrees, PG Certificates and Diplomas
Fees vary depending on the course. See the MSt course list and the Postgraduate course list on the Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) website for details.
