Funding Opportunities
A range of scholarships dedicated to the Master's is available. Particular priority in awarding these scholarships will be given to those from countries rich in biodiversity but poor in financial resources. In addition, applicants can apply to the normal range of scholarships available to postgraduates applying to Cambridge. Please see the MPhil in Conservation Leadership Scholarship Support page on the Department of Geography's website for further details.

In some cases, students undertake fieldwork for their professional placement which incurs additional costs.
These costs are sometimes covered by the organisation hosting the placement, and in addition, up to £500 is available from departmental funds for travel and appropriate expenses. However, in some cases, there is a shortfall that needs to be covered by the student from their personal funds. Any such potential shortfall is made clear at the stage of selecting a placement. There are always many placements available that involve no additional cost to students, meaning that the availability of additional funds is not in any way a limiting factor on the ability of a student to complete the course. Where additional funds need to be raised for a placement, students are sometimes able to find support from their college or departmental fieldwork funds, although these cannot be guaranteed. The maximum shortfall that a student might need to find to cover a placement that involves additional costs is in the region of £1,500 although this would be a very rare case.
