Apply using the Applicant Portal
The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal. There, you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and you can also request your references.
An application is only complete when:
- you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
- you have paid the application fee if applicable. For further information on application fees, and which courses require an application fee, see here.
- your referees have provided their references.
If you miss the deadlines specified in this section, you will not be able to submit your application.
Applicants must complete the University's online application form by the closing date, via the online Applicant Portal.
Applicants must secure the support of a supervisor within a laboratory before their application will be considered. A list of supervisors in the Department of Haematology can be found at https://www.haem.cam.ac.uk/staff/senior-staff/. Please contact your preferred supervisor(s) to discuss your potential supervision, proposed research project and funding options.
Before submitting your application, please check if your proposed supervisor is also a member of the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) - https://www.stemcells.cam.ac.uk/people/pi. If they are, please submit your application to the 'MPhil in Stem Cell Biology' instead (https://www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses/directory/blscmpdsc). Applications to supervisors not in the CSCI should continue to be submitted to the 'MPhil in Haematology'.
Applicants wanting to be considered for the University's postgraduate funding competition should pay attention to the separate funding application deadlines (see sidebar on right).
This course is part of a scheme within the Postgraduate School of Life Sciences which enables three applications to be made with payment of a single application fee. A list of other eligible courses and further information can be found here.
Selection Process
Applications are considered as they are received (rolling admission). However, applicants wishing to be
considered for the University's postgraduate funding competition will need to apply by the relevant deadline (see
side bar on right), which falls earlier than the departmental application deadline.
Applicants should expect to receive a communication from the postgraduate administrator within three weeks following submission of their completed application and supporting documents. Applicants with no named supervisor may not be considered.
