Postgraduate Study

My year in the MPhil was genuinely transformative—intellectually stimulating and personally rewarding. Beyond rigorous academic training, the course offered a wonderfully supportive environment, where supervisors, faculty, staff, and fellow students actively fostered an inclusive, warm, and collaborative community. This experience significantly broadened my academic horizons, while equipping me with the confidence and skills necessary to grow as a researcher. I deeply cherish both the interdisciplinary insights gained and the meaningful connections and memories made.

The MPhil by Advanced Study course was varied and enjoyable, whilst still challenging: we were able to choose from a large variety of classes in all different subfields of linguistics. I particularly appreciated how the course started with a term of breadth and new material, before narrowing down to more in-depth seminars associated with our dissertation topics. The staff and my lab were friendly and supportive - I'm very happy to be working with them for another three years.
