Funding Opportunities
If accepted onto the course, students can also apply for a number of grants and bursaries to contribute to travel costs to attend conferences and to carry out fieldwork in Latin America. For more information please visit the Centre website. The Centre puts forward a number of students each year for AHRC and ESRC studentships.

Students wishing to undertake research or fieldwork in Latin America will incur costs for flights, accommodation and subsistence. There are sources of funding available to students to apply to for research trips, e.g. the Simon Bolivar Fund and the Santander Student Travel Grants scheme, but students should not expect all of the costs of their research trip to be covered. If you have any concerns about this please speak to a member of CLAS staff before applying noting that research abroad is not a mandatory part of the course.
