The educational aim of the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit PhD programme is to train our PhD students to work at the forefront of contemporary mitochondrial research. This will prepare them with for leading careers in academic research or in biomedical industry. In addition, our training is an excellent preparation for many other careers including publishing, management, patent law or education. Students are supervised and assessed by a research supervisor and a separate advisor, under the overall supervision of. the Unit's Postgraduate Education Committee.
Continuing
Those who wish to progress to a PhD after completing an MPhil s will be required to satisfy their potential supervisor, Head of Department and the Faculty Degree Committee that they have the skills and ability to achieve the higher degree.
Open Days
The Postgraduate Virtual Open Day usually takes place at the beginning of November.
