Selection Process
Applications for our MPhil programmes are reviewed in batches throughout the applications cycle. However, the Department is subject to restrictions on the number of offers it can make for these courses and whilst in some cases a decision on an application will be made following the first review, in a large number of cases an application will be held for re-consideration at a later stage. This may mean that a decision on your application is not taken until after the closing date for applications to the course.
The department aims to make the initial review within 12 weeks after being placed under consideration.
If your application is being reconsidered, you will be informed by the Student Business Office.

How to Find a Supervisor
You ought to have reviewed the Department’s areas of expertise, and to be familiar with the research interests of its academic staff, as well as the cross-disciplinary links that the Department shares with other departments or research areas.
Before submitting an application, you are recommended to formally contact prospective supervisors to assess their availability and suitability to supervise your particular research interests. You are only permitted to nominate one potential supervisor in your application.
You are invited to consider the research profiles of our academic staff on our Departmental Website: All Staff | Department of Land Economy (cam.ac.uk)
You are required to contact a prospective supervisor in order to ascertain 1) their availability 2) their suitability.
Applicants who do not nominate a supervisor will be assigned one by the Department. A failure to nominate a supervisor, however, may result in substantial delay in the processing of their application.
