Postgraduate Study

Expected Academic Standard

Applicants for this course should have achieved a Good II.i Honours Degree.

If your degree is not from the UK, please check International Qualifications to find the equivalent in your country.

Applicants are normally expected to have a good undergraduate degree (a UK first or upper second-class honours degree, or equivalent) in a subject relevant to the course. The subject may be, or related to, life sciences, medical sciences, computation or engineering. Other backgrounds will be considered.

Applicants who have already achieved a Pass grade in a UK Master's degree or equivalent this will therefore surpass the University minimum entry requirement. Students may not follow a degree-level course at this or another institution at the same time as doing this course. If you are currently registered on a degree-level course, you are required to tell us about this and your offer will include a condition either to complete that degree (at a specified minimum grade) before the PGCert begins, to intermit, or to withdraw from it. However, students studying a non-degree-bearing part-time course, at Cambridge or elsewhere, may be considered. That said, the workload of this course should not be underestimated, as discussed in the Application Details section on this website.

For this course, one academic and one professional reference is preferred, irrespective of how recently the applicant has left higher education.
