Expected Academic Standard
Applicants for this course should have achieved a Masters (Pass).
If your degree is not from the UK, please check International Qualifications to find the equivalent in your country.
The PhD offered by the Faculty of Education is a research degree. Applicants for this course are, therefore, expected to have already developed demonstrable research abilities and skills in their chosen area of inquiry. The applicant's Master's degree will normally be in Education or a discipline related to the proposed doctoral research topic.
Applicants without a UK-equivalent Master's degree, or those not currently studying for one, may still be considered if they can demonstrate that they meet the standard required for PhD study. Applicants would normally be expected to have experience comparable to one year of full-time postgraduate research training.
Please review the information provided on our Doctoral Paths: Apply page before application.
