Funding Opportunities
Candidates should apply for admission for a PhD at the Dept of Clinical Biochemistry through the University of Cambridge Applicant Portal. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an academic interview by the Department. Applicants who impress at interview may be offered one of two options:
A non-funded PhD place, subject to them securing their own funding. This could either be through self-funding, securing University funding if they entered the funding competition in the application portal, or securing external funding.
A nomination to be further considered for a funded PhD programme (DTP in Medical Research or MRC iCase), involving another selection process step by the School of Clinical Medicine.
Please note the Department of Clinical Biochemistry has no regularly available funds to support three-year PhD students, although studentships funded by UK Research Councils, medical charities or other sources may occasionally be available and advertised.
