Apply using the Applicant Portal
The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal. There, you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and you can also request your references.
An application is only complete when:
- you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
- you have paid the application fee if applicable. For further information on application fees, and which courses require an application fee, see here.
- your referees have provided their references.
Before applying for this course, you must have the support of a Sanger Institute faculty member willing to supervise your MPhil project.
In order for you to be considered for University of Cambridge funding opportunities you must apply by the relevant funding deadline.
Selection Process
Applications are considered as they are received. Suitable candidates with the support of a Sanger Institute faculty member will be interviewed by the Institute in person or by video conference. Decisions are usually made within 12 weeks.

How to Find a Supervisor
Before applying to the programme, you should directly approach the faculty members who interest you. For information on our faculty members' research interests, please visit the Potential Supervisors page on the Sanger Institute website. In order for your application to be considered, you must have the agreement of a Sanger faculty member to supervise your project.
