Postgraduate Study

Apply using the Applicant Portal

The Apply Now button on the right will take you to the Applicant Portal. There, you can create and submit your application and supporting documents, and you can also request your references.

An application is only complete when:

  1. you have submitted your application and supporting documents via the Applicant Portal
  2. you have paid the application fee if applicable. For further information on application fees, and which courses require an application fee, see here.
  3. your referees have provided their references.

If you miss the deadlines specified in this section, you will not be able to submit your application.

We strongly encourage all applicants (including those who have finance) to apply by the December funding deadline.

Applicants must tick ‘Yes - I wish to apply for funding’ in the funding section of the Applicant Portal, to be considered for University of Cambridge funding. See https://www.postgraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/funding/how-to-apply for details.

The majority of studentships on this course will be offered by February to meet the University funding timeline. Applicants wishing to apply after the funding competition deadline should contact the course administrator to check if there are any (self-funded) places remaining.

Please note that incomplete applications (those missing one or both academic references) will be seriously disadvantaged as they may not be eligible for funding. Applicants wanting to be put forward for funding, must ensure that both academic referees submit their references BEFORE the funding deadline.

This course is part of a scheme within the Postgraduate School of Life Sciences which enables three applications to be made with payment of a single application fee. A list of other eligible courses and further information can be found here.

Selection Process

This course will conduct interviews of shortlisted applicants. Most of these interviews will take place in January. Successful applicants will be made offers and those eligible for funding will be entered into the funding competition by mid-February.

A second round of interviews may take place in April/May, for candidates not being put forward for University funding.
