Applicants for this course should have achieved a Masters (Distinction).
If your degree is not from the UK, please check International Qualifications to find the equivalent in your country.
Academic Requirements:
The CDS PhD programme has high academic requirements and a large number of applicants who meet them.
If you do not meet the criteria listed below, the Department is unlikely to offer you a place.
Those requirements are:
a first class undergraduate degree from a UK university, or a GPA of at least 3.85 from the American system (or the international equivalent)
and
a masters degree in a subject relevant to your PhD application, with a distinction-level result or GPA of at least 3.85 from the American system, or the international equivalent, either completed or expected (for those still on the course).
Students must also submit a strong research proposal that falls within the research interests of one of the Centre's academics.
