Funding Opportunities
The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) offers a limited number of funding opportunities. Applicants may indicate their wish to apply for this funding on the applicant portal and should additionally upload a completed OOC DTP Supplementary Questions Form to the portal. Another potential funding source is the Gibson Spanish Scholarship; please consult the Postgraduate Courses page on the Spanish & Portuguese website for more information.

Our postgraduate students have access to a shared working space with networked computing facilities. However, most find it useful to work with their own laptops.
While our libraries are excellent, most students purchase books for their own use. Some research projects will require one or more of the following: fieldwork, visits and research overseas, specialist software, equipment and materials, and the participation of (paid) volunteers. These can sometimes add significant costs to the research.
The Faculty has limited funds to support these needs. Some Sections may have additional funding. The Faculty strongly advises that students plan in advance for all necessary research funding to the extent possible. If your project depends on such funds' availability, you should discuss its viability in advance with your intended Supervisor.
If you study part-time, the University Composition Fee will be 60% of the annual full-time fee for 5 years; or 75% of the annual full-time fee for 4 years. Guidance on calculation of your maintenance costs can be found here: Maintenance costs for part-time students | Postgraduate Study (cam.ac.uk)
