A limited number of funding opportunities are available from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).  Applicants may indicate their wish to apply for this funding on the applicant portal, and should additionally upload a completed OOC DTP Supplementary Questions Form to the portal.

In some years,  Studentships for PhDs in Italian are available at colleges or through matched funding with the Cambridge Trusts. For more information, see this link.

Your Estimated Annual Commitment:

Component Cost

Total Annual Commitment £24,361

Our postgraduate students have access to a shared working space with networked computing facilities. However, most of our students find it useful to work with their own laptop.

Whilst our libraries are excellent, most students purchase books for their own use. Some research projects will require one or more of the following: fieldwork, visits and research overseas, specialist software, equipment and materials, the participation of (paid) volunteers. These can add sometimes significant costs to the research.

The Faculty has some, limited funds to support these needs. Some Sections may have additional funding. The Faculty strongly advises that students plan in advance for all necessary research funding, as far as is possible. If your project is dependent on the availability of such funds, you should discuss its viability in advance with your intended supervisor.
