Postgraduate Study

Studying World History at the University of Cambridge has been a unique and rewarding experience. Running for nine months and combining taught modules with independent research, the program offers an intensive introduction to the field of World History. The core and option modules have provided me with an excellent grounding in themes that lie at the heart of the discipline, such as gender, capitalism, empire and the environment. The structure of the course exposed me to the work of academics from across the faculty, allowing me to draw on a diverse field of expertise throughout the course of my studies. One of the most rewarding parts of the degree was the opportunity to undertake additional language study, which has greatly advanced my research skills and widened my research scope. Attending the weekly World History seminars during term time was also a definite highlight, showcasing the exciting research being undertaken by world historians in institutions across the globe.
