Isabelle Wright, (Mar. 30, 2026)The MPhil in Modern British History has been a genuinely rewarding course to study. One of its greatest strengths is the range of modules available, which have allowed me to pursue my own interests whilst also pushing me into new areas of thought and debate. The teaching has been consistently excellent, and I have especially valued the opportunity to work closely with my supervisor, whose guidance has helped me refine both the scope of my project and the way I approach research more broadly. That support has made a real difference to my experience of the course, giving me much greater confidence in developing and testing my ideas whilst still feeling guided in the process. Overall, living and studying at Cambridge has been a very positive experience, not least because of its supportive and encouraging academic community. I have been particularly grateful for the generosity of both staff and fellow students, whose openness has made the course feel equally intellectually engaging and personally rewarding.
