MPhil in Economic and Social History

First, I would like to give appreciation to the extensive resources available to History MPhil students, particularly the online databases that provide access to a wide range of scholarly journals and books. The History email newsletters are also very useful by keeping students informed about recent talks and events. One event I especially enjoyed was the Adam Smith lectures held at the beginning of the month, which complemented many of the topics we study as economic and social historians. My experience living in Cambridge has been largely positive. The city offers everything a student needs, and its proximity to London provides convenient access to major archives that are essential for research. Cambridge’s historical character also creates a distinctive environment that is quite different from anywhere else.

Studying at Cambridge is an invaluable opportunity, and one of its greatest strengths lies in its student body. My peers have contributed significantly to my learning experience, bringing fascinating insights shaped by their own research interests.
