Expected Academic Standard
Applicants for this course should have achieved a UK Good II.i Honours Degree.
If your degree is not from the UK, please check International Qualifications to find the equivalent in your country.
The MRC Epidemiology Unit offers a three-year PhD programme for those students who already have a master's degree or equivalent training in an appropriate scientific discipline. Opportunities also exist for four-year positions for those wishing to undertake the MPhil in Population Health Sciences course in the first year of their studentship. The academic requirement for entry is a first or upper second-class degree or equivalent. Note that applicants who apply to take the MPhil course as a precursor to the PhD must pass the MPhil and make a separate application to continue to the PhD (i.e. continuation is not automatic).
