Location

Churchill College is a large campus on Madingley Road close to the West Cambridge site. We are adjacent to a number of major academic departments and research centres, and about half a mile from the University Library and the historic city centre.

It's a 15-minute walk to the city centre or 5 minutes by bicycle. Buses also stop directly outside the College.

Location

Clare College is situated between the city centre and the River Cam, minutes away from the University Library and the Sidgwick Site, where most Arts and Humanities faculties are based. Clare is also close to the Downing and West Cambridge sites, where many Science, Mathematics, and Engineering departments are located.

Location

Clare Hall sits in tranquil surroundings on Herschel Road, a leafy residential road to the west of Cambridge. The College is only a 10-minute walk from the historic city centre.

We are a postgraduate College, so 100% of our accommodation is occupied by postgrads. We house approximately 50% of all the students at Clare Hall and 78% of all new incoming students.


Facilities

Clare Hall offers an indoor heated swimming pool and a small gym for members. The student-run bar in the Anthony Low Building provides a variety of drinks and a space to socialise, while the College’s gardens offer tranquil areas to relax.

Location

Corpus Christi's postgraduate accommodation is located at our Leckhampton site off Grange Road, near the University’s Sidgwick and West Cambridge sites. Postgraduates can also enjoy the facilities at the College’s main site on Trumpington Street in the city centre, just a 15-minute walk or 5-minute cycle from Leckhampton.

College accommodation is usually offered to Master’s students for the duration of their course. For PhD students, we normally offer accommodation for the first 3 years of their course. However, we deduct 1 year for each year spent in Cambridge College accommodation, whether at Corpus or elsewhere. 


Facilities

Leckhampton’s extensive site features a gym, sports fields, peaceful gardens, croquet lawn, recreational library, MCR common room, music room with a Steinway grand piano, a bar and a dining hall serving meals most evenings. Postgraduates are also welcome to use the facilities on the College’s central site, including the Hall, bar, College library and Graduate Parlour.

Darwin’s tranquil riverside location is situated right beside the heart of the historic city. We are within easy walking distance of the central Faculties and Departments and a short cycle or sustainable bus ride from the West Cambridge and Biomedical campuses.

Darwin usually accommodates all incoming postgraduate students as well as those who apply in subsequent years.  All our accommodation is either on the main College site or in the immediately surrounding area.


Facilities

Onsite facilities include our award-winning Study Centre, a recently furbished 24-hour gym and a fully-equipped music room.  Our peaceful gardens border the River Cam where we keep our punts, kayaks, paddle boards and canoes.  There are also shared playing fields, squash courts and a Boat House nearby.  As well as the wide range of sustainable meals in our Dining Hall and café, members and guests can enjoy the world-famous DarBar.

Location

Downing College is centrally located, close to many University faculties and departments but with wide open spaces away from the usual tourist track. The College's position on Regent Street is well-placed for all the amenities that Cambridge has to offer.

Downing College features beautiful neo-classical buildings set in over 20 acres of tranquil gardens. Postgraduates can meet in the MCR, with dining options like the Butterfield Café and the Servery. Facilities include the 160-seat Howard Theatre, a library, a chapel, the Heong Gallery, and a Health and Wellbeing Centre. Extensive sports facilities include multi-use courts, the Paddock, a small gym, and a boathouse with an indoor rowing tank.

Affordable meals and drinks are available in our beautiful Georgian Hall, Fiona's café and the student–run Bar. The Education Centre is always accessible, alongside a range of music practice rooms, and a free laundrette for all who live in our accommodation. Our sports facilities include a fully-equipped boathouse, 2 squash courts and a well–equipped gym, with a large sports ground only a short cycle away. The main garden provides spaces for grass tennis and badminton courts in the summer and we have an outdoor swimming pool for warm summer evenings.

Girton’s main site is located 2 miles from the city centre, within 50 acres of natural woodland and orchards. Central Cambridge is easily accessible by bike and public transport. Most postgraduates are housed at Swirles Court, at Eddington - a short walk from the West Cambridge site, home to Computer Science, Physics, some Engineering Departments, and Mathematics.

Accommodation is mostly situated around our postgraduate hub in the Harvey Road area (conveniently located for departments in the city centre and on the biomedical campus, and the train station).

We offer self-contained flats and houses for students with partners and families. Caius students with children also have priority places at the Mrs Cameron Day Nursery.

Daily meals include a unique three-course dinner in the College Hall, with informal breakfast and lunch options available. The on-site health centre provides wellbeing and mental health support. Playing fields on Barton Road are home to various College sports teams and year-round squash and tennis courts. Homerton College is based on Hills Road, just outside the city centre between the main railway station and Addenbrookes Hospital and close to the biomedical campus. Cambridge Leisure Park is a short walk from the College, with local supermarkets, a bowling alley, a cinema and The Junction comedy/music venue. Hughes Hall is a quiet haven located between the railway station and the market square. We're a 10-minute bike ride from most university departments and only 5 minutes from punting on the river Cam and Midsummer Common’s famous cows. Location

Murray Edwards College is situated on Huntingdon Road, to the west of the city centre. One of the 'Hill Colleges' (located on Castle Hill), Murray Edwards is based in stylish modernist buildings set in flower-filled gardens that once belonged to the Darwin family.

Location

Queens’ College is situated directly on the River Cam, with buildings on both sides of its banks. The spacious main site is right in the heart of the city, close to many University departments and facilities, including the Sidgwick Site.
