Lister Institute Summer Vacation Studentship

Vaccinia virus immune evasion strategies

Applications are invited for a 6-10 week vacation studentship to be held between mid-June and end of September 2021in the laboratory of Professor Geoffrey L Smith in the Department of Pathology in Tennis Court Road, Cambridge.

Applicants would usually be undergraduate university students studying Biological Science, Medicine or Veterinary Medicine at the end of their second year. The project will study the mechanisms by which vaccinia virus subverts the host innate immune response to infection. Prior research experience is not essential.
