Funding Opportunities
The EPSRC-funded Centre for Doctoral Training in Nuclear Energy Futures can award a number of fully-funded PhD studentships each year. Eligibility criteria and funding deadlines can be found on the CDT website. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be automatically considered for this funding.
Fees and Maintenance
Your Estimated Annual Commitment:
Component | Cost |
---|---|
University Composition Fee | £9,387 |
Maintenance | £17,668 |
Total Annual Commitment | £27,055 |
The CDT funding includes attendance at the integrated training courses and visits to nuclear facilities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. However, some additional costs may be incurred in relation to PhD-associated research trips or long-term attachments, bespoke to the individual student and project. These could also include equipment, books, IT, photocopying, bespoke training, and travel for conferences and summer schools.
Supervisors are often able to cover or contribute towards these costs, depending on the financial resources available. Where not possible, or where research-related costs are not specifically included in a stipend, or if students are self-funded, students will usually be expected to find additional funding elsewhere, e.g. University/College.
Applicants should be aware that the University Composition Fee is charged for 12 terms (four years, full-time) for this course.
